Holiday Routines

On this occasion, the date for this event dipped into December. By contrast to the summer event, we are in the thick of the holiday season. With this in mind, it makes sense for Christmas-themed routines. In case you did not know, red and green are rendered very well on digital cameras. Who knew that Santa was perfect for photos? Congratulations to everyone that danced their routines last week! In case you cannot find your photos, please let me know. In general, we have the photos sorted by studio. However, we may have misfiled some. Enjoy!

The 2017 Summer Showcase photos are expiring from the proofing site on Monday, October 23. As I posted before, this was a nice event for us! Working through some technical issues resulted in some nice images. Until they are archived, the photos are available to see here:

Professional Shows

After event, I had so many favorites from the professional shows. Once in a while, I get a set like this, where I cannot decide one image to represent a show. When it came time to make posters for the next event, I pick one from each to run as a Facebook contest. I post those images for students and staff to vote on as their favorite. The images getting the most “Likes” on the Facebook page are printed to display at our booth. However, I had too many images to choose from for these! My solution was to combine some photos into one poster.

To clarify that there were two different images in each, I made one of them monochrome. After finishing these posters, I was unusually proud of my creativity! Hopefully I will have similar luck with my next shoot.

Ballroom Decorations

Throughout this weekend, we had a number of fun additions to the regular schedule. During the breaks, we updated some photos to display on the projector in the ballroom. For this purpose, it was better for us to make the photos black and white. This is a huge ballroom! Under those circumstances, it is difficult to clearly see a projected image. Because of this, I converted the photos to monochrome to make them easier to see.

During dinner, there was a quick celebration for Carolina’s birthday! Who would not want an entire ballroom dancers singing to you on your special day? Glad I caught this nice moment during dinner.

Professional Shows

To finish the event, we were treated to seven awesome professional shows. Additionally, we had a very special spotlight to end the event. Seeing that John and Carol Clark are a regular fixture as judges for these events, it was nice to see them dancing! To conclude the event, the organizers had them out to celebrate their anniversary!
