The photos from the 2019 FADS Spring Fling have been released! This was our first event for the Fred Astaire dance studios in the DC Area. In the first place, I want to thank Brianna Dee for inviting us to cover the event. In like fashion to other events, we have sorted the images by gentlemen’s number. You can see all the photos here:

Since this was a local event for us we saw some familiar faces on the floor. In contract to other FADS events we have covered, it was nice to catch up with old dance friends! Their dance floor at the Westin Dulles was setup nicely for spotlighting the action. With this in mind, the dancers had a high end event that they could attend locally. At this time, we had some new equipment that we started using. Although it has not been long since the last event, we ran into issues. I want to keep things fresh similarly to the dancers this weekend. For one thing, they have learned new steps. Moreover some may have moved up in a dance level. So we have some new laptops but they need to be broken in. At least we made it through the weekend with an understanding of how they work. Accordingly this is just like dancing at a new Arthur Murray event!

Professional Showcase

After dinner and awards, Tal Livshitz and Ilana Keselman performed a show. Prior to them taking the floor, I heard Garry speaking with them. Obviously they had a very warm relationship that has carried over the years. When they took the floor, the really gave an amazing display of their talent!

All in all, I was very please with the images from this show. Since it was our second time in this room, I learned from last year. Our setup gave me a better chance for more even lighting to the front of the dancers. Of course having excellent performers helps to make these images pop! Thanks again to Garry for inviting us to his event again this year.
