Models in Residence

It is so nice to have portrait models around all the time to practice! We have been dog sitting and I have taken the opportunity to make lots of images of our two visitors. They are half-sibling mini dachshunds, and are two of the easiest subjects to photograph. I have known a few dachshunds, and these two are the most un-dachshund like I have met. Not terribly territorial, or very loud. They do like their walks, and chasing squirrels. Luckily for the camera, they like their down time. I dragged out some flashes and lenses and tried some things while they were available. Max is up first – he kept me from working the most during the week! The weather is not as great out there, but I hope you make some nice photos this weekend too.

Busy week coming up! I am going to some events this weekend to edit. Then next Saturday is the Arthur Murray Fall Showcase – our last event that we will cover for them this year. It will be great to see the new routines that the dancers and instructors have been working on these last few months. The photos will be posted to the proofing site as usual. Also stay tuned for some exciting new for your holiday gift shopping!

Dachshunds and Autumn Leaves

“When autumn leaves start to fall…”

Our backyard is in need of some maintenance. We are lucky to have so many nice shade trees in the summer, that turn to beautiful golden trees in the fall. Now we have to get a much of these off our lawn before it kills our grass! Luckily, we have two helpers that are visiting us for the week, and we need all the help we can get.

Yes, they may not be much helping moving the debris to the pickup point at the front of the house, but they do give you some nice company while working. And they don’t mess up any leaf piles too much!

They were so good, we took them on a walk afterwards. So many new surroundings to explore, and of course, more leaves to inspect.

I am confident they were also keeping any reptilian creatures in the woods away from us! Hope you are enjoying the not too cold autumn weather. There are still photos that I am working on, so I will be busy the next week completing those. We have finished the editing and sorting of our largest ballroom dance events, and you can see all those photos at the proofing website.

Sunday – Family Day

©TimeLine Media - Virginia country sunset

Hope you enjoyed your Sunday! I have been busy with a lot of photo shoots the passed few days, so I will be in the studio working on them this week. Today was a little rest day before the work week starts tomorrow. Stay tuned to the blog for updates on the progress. There are some really nice images coming soon!

At this time, we went out to visit family in the Virginia farming country. While it is a departure from our suburban area, it is not a long trip. Whereas our neighborhood is stacked with homes, this area has 10-acre home sites keeping everyone a long distance from each other. The quiet on account of the distance is calming.

Also, there are some furry little family members that greet us as soon as we arrive. Since we do not have pets at home, it is a comforting sight and sound as soon as the car stops on this Sunday. Surprisingly, this is also a recharge from photography. The change of scenery allows me to stretch a different part of my photography brain. Thus, I am set to get back to work at the start of the week!
