Thankful holiday time

Reflecting on this 2016 Christmas Day, I am nothing but thankful. In short, my family is happy and healthy which is all you can ask for. Moreover, I am so fulfilled with my photography career. Over this year as I have noted, there have been new projects, new clients, and thousands of new photos.

All in all, making new photos is the best part about this career. You challenge yourself to make something unique, and to get into new events. Especially since I do not consider myself the most aggressive marketer, I am thankful that people have found me. Moreover, I appreciate my current clients that come back for repeat business.

Even if I were to say that I am content with my scheduled clients, I am still looking to do even more next year. I’ll keep myself available, and continue to be a presence in the Tysons, Virginia area for assignments. In any case, I am so thankful for you blog readers that follow along. Please reach out if you have any ideas for photo projects in the new year!

Washington, DC

Earlier this month, I met Frances and Carlo for an engagement session. Being that they asked me where I would like to meet, this location was my idea. The Lower Senate Park is one of the most picturesque and “DC” places to make photos. Although it is very popular for photo shoots, we were lucky that it was not crowded!

Frances I had met prior to the shoot. She had some very nice plans for their upcoming wedding! While it may be true that the bride does most of the planning, Marco was a great sport. He was in great shape and for this reason I did not hesitate to ask him to do anything physical. Easily he picked her up to illustrate a spontaneous moment! In reality is was all set up, but they played along nicely.

Obviously they were a beautiful couple, but they were easy to work with too. On this occasion the wind became stronger at times. These two just rolled with it! I enjoyed editing these, and really look forward to their upcoming wedding.

Late March 2016 – the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin were in full bloom. Since this is a regular occurrence, it is an annual event for me to arrange. As can be seen in the photos, I am not the only one with that idea!

I am a sucker for these beautiful blooms. For one thing, they are highly publicized when they are ready to flower, so everyone has plenty of time to plan. Although the crowds get larger every year, they are still worth going through the hardship to see.

They also signal the end of a long winter in the light of springtime popping up in the gardens around the blossoms. Undeniably, they add so much to the urban photo made of our nation’s capital. Moreover they signify a peace between the USA and Japan that is rekindled every Spring.

You can easily spend hours at the Tidal Basin in order to see the blossoms in different light. As the sun dips in the horizon, the colors will change for the most part. With the easy walk in the city, it is worth taking the time.
