The photos from last weekend’s Spring Freestyles are looking good! I am still at the editing stage, and still hope to have them up by Saturday. If there are any delays from putting them on the website, I will let you know here on the blog, or on the Facebook page. Here are a few favorites from Friday, as I came across them. Enjoy!

Similarly to other Freestyles, the ballroom was filled with so much energy! Although some of it was nervous, much of it was encouraging energy being sent to the dancers on the floor. Particularly, studio mates helping to push their friends to get out of their heads and have fun while they have the floor. As can be seen, it really helps to get smiles while they are working through butterflies, and executing their figures. Whenever you get out there, it is almost impossible to dance as well as you did at the studio. However, it makes the experience worth if when you get out there at Freestyles!

Another day of dancing and photographs is upon us! I am charging all the batteries, cleaning all the lenses, and packing up the car for the DC Area Arthur Murray Spring Freestyles. The dancing starts this afternoon and continues until Saturday night. These are so much fun for us to shoot. The only dance studio we have taken lessons is the Arthur Murray in Tysons Corner, VA. We appreciate the challenging work the teachers put in to getting students in front of the judges. There has been a lot of cramming the last couple of weeks! When you see familiar faces out on the floor, it gives us a home-field advantage in making good photos – they are some of my favorites every year. If can’t make it out this time, they have more events coming throughout the year. As usual, the photos from this weekend will be edited, sorted, and posted to the proofing website here-
