Peloton – Tysons Corner Center

Being that I am a regular photographer at Tysons Corner Center, they referred me to Peloton. Given that their location in the mall was gaining popularity with the high-tech product, they needed some updated images for their website. Compared to other stores I have photographed, this was a minimalist look throughout.

Having a clean store in general, is a goal for any website images. On the whole, this was not a problem as this store was camera ready early in the day! The only suggestion I had was to turn on the television. In fact, this is something I do for any interior photos shoot. Having a black square hanging on a wall does not add to photo. Even if the screen just has a simple logo, it add purpose to its placement.

Afterwards, there was a good amount of post processing needed for these images. To begin with, I had no idea that there were so many plugs in this store! Whenever you walk through a place in real life, these little details seem to disappear by default. However in still photos that can be examined in detail, it is better to take them out. Also, please know that there are no ‘wireless’ Peloton bikes. They still need to be plugged in!

Speed of Life – Model Shoot

Ashburn, Virginia

In January, I photographed a project with Kyle McKay from MXK Productions. Mehr and Kyle had a styled shoot based around the song, Speed of Life by David Bowie. In light of his recent death, the shoot was styled with inspiration from his song. Being that I was not available to go to the studio with the production, I did a behind-the-scenes look at them getting ready. However, I was able to setup a small headshot lighting setup to get a quick preview for what was to come later.

Mehr Bano was the primary make up artist that worked on the production. Since there were so many models that had to be done before leaving for the studio, there was a tight schedule to finish. In that case, I photographed as much of the action as it happened. The hair styling, makeup, henna, clothing – there was a lot going on in particular after the basics were done.

Small Headshot Lighting Studio

Whenever a model was ready for the camera, I brought them to a mobile lighting setup that I brought with me. With the limited space, it was one light only. With a black background, I love how these turned out. This shoot was produced in the hope that they would be published. Best of luck to everyone that helped to make it happen!

DC Area Arthur Murray studios

The photos from last Sunday’s Arthur Murray 2016 Summer Showcase are now ready to view at the TimeLine Media proofing site! We were excited to head back the Hilton McLean in Tysons, VA for another event. Although it was on an unusual day on Sunday, the dancers came ready to perform.

Student Showcases

At this time, I only got to photograph in the Rhythm room. Having photographer friends that can assist is so helpful! While they were covering the smooth routines in the last room, I was in the smaller room with the energetic music! Indeed, I do enjoy listening to the driving beats in the rhythm room. Moreover the exciting tracks get the crowd into the performances as well! Without a doubt this helps the dancers with a little boost to their energy. It brings out just that little bit more from their movement to impress the judges!
