Since we are starting Fall, I wanted to post about the 2019 3rd Quarter Media posted in and around Tysons Corner Center. Similarly to earlier in the year, it is nice to highlight some of the changes that keeps the mall a vibrant and effective showcase area. Since it is harder to plan, the outside photos of the pylon signs I was happy to make. The Route 7 specifically had a sunset shining through the space behind the sign and through the trees nicely. For photography geeks, having a really small aperture will create the nice rays from the sun.

Inside, the mall were new hanging and digital banners. Since Halloween is coming soon, the signs for American Scream projected very nicely on the digital board. Having the contrast between the dark background and the light text really made this one pop out especially from farther away. Fanta also had a digital tie-in with codes printed on their face. When you pointed your smartphone at the ad, they would come to life with more dynamic content! Surely this shows what it possible with handheld technology. Perhaps this would be something that photographers could take advantage of with all of their images!

BrandBox Puppy Party

Last week, I photographed the BrandBox Puppy Party at Tysons Corner Center. With puppies from the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, the marketing team put on a ‘Puppy Party’ in the BrandBox lounge. For a small donation, you had the chance to cuddle with a puppy for a few minutes. In this case, once the puppies were brought out, the line went down the long hallway. Undoubtedly these adoptable puppies will find homes very quickly!

During the event, I got an education on the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. After all, I see their events around the Tysons area often. Although there are many similar organizations in the area, they have some key differences. As a veterinarian-led animal rescue, health of the animals is their primary concern. Also, many of their animals come from the state of Mississippi. The great effort needed to transport and coordinate the transfer of animals to the area helps to relieve overloaded shelters from there.

2019 BrandBox Stores

Last month, the marketing team asked me to get some images from new 2019 BrandBox stores. Comparatively it is easier to create a store from scratch at BrandBox. With this in mind, there has been a change in their lineup since their opening late last year.

Since this was the first time I have seen a change in the lineup, I can see innovations in their setups. Specifically, the Candid store needed a novel setup due to the nature of their business. Privacy is a consideration because of the medical nature of their work. So the store design incorporated a nice airy barrier that keeps patients out of the visibility of the public, but it keeps the open feel of BrandBox.

Additionally, there is a new sequins wall that was installed in the BrandBox area. Surprisingly this was a big attraction! You have the opportunity to leave your own messages and designs to place on social as you go through the area.
