The 2017 Spring Freestyles photos from the DC Area Arthur Murray studios are expiring on Monday. In order to make room on the site for fall events, we needed to move these to the archive. While they are still up, the link to view all the photos is here:

Ballroom Decorations

Throughout this weekend, we had a number of fun additions to the regular schedule. During the breaks, we updated some photos to display on the projector in the ballroom. For this purpose, it was better for us to make the photos black and white. This is a huge ballroom! Under those circumstances, it is difficult to clearly see a projected image. Because of this, I converted the photos to monochrome to make them easier to see.

During dinner, there was a quick celebration for Carolina’s birthday! Who would not want an entire ballroom dancers singing to you on your special day? Glad I caught this nice moment during dinner.

Professional Shows

To finish the event, we were treated to seven awesome professional shows. Additionally, we had a very special spotlight to end the event. Seeing that John and Carol Clark are a regular fixture as judges for these events, it was nice to see them dancing! To conclude the event, the organizers had them out to celebrate their anniversary!

Social Media Images

Prior to the event, we have a little contest on the TimeLine Media Facebook page. In addition to a slideshow preview from images taken during the event, we also have some large prints on display. In the hope that it would get dancers excited about the coming event, I post about the previous competition. While at the site, we ask people to vote on their favorite image taken that weekend. All the images are from the professional shows that ended the event. Given that there is a lot of studio pride, we see lots of coordinated voting!
