Awards plaques

I am currently working on finishing the award plaques from the recent 2013 DC Dance Challenge. This event from last month had some great participation from all the dancers. However there were a few that were recognized for their technique in their categories. Although we could not provide plaques for the dancers to take home from the Ronald Reagan Building that evening, I think the results are better now. This is due to me having edited all the photos for the event for color and exposure. The photos that are used from the plaques are made from photos that were made at the event on the dance floor or the surrounding area at the venue.

I am much more pleased with how these have turned out since they are produced at the same lab that I send print and album orders. The quality of the print is just as good as these since they are optical prints from the digital files, not prints from an ink jet printer. If you see these plaques up close, you can tell the difference. They will last much longer than ink jet prints, and have much better contrast and saturation of color. Here is a scan of one that is completely assembled.

The picture is mounted onto a wooden frame, and mounted underneath a clear plastic. The plaque is cut on the back with some holes for easy mounting to the wall. I really like how these come out, and I hope the dancers like the presentation. It’s a great way to show off their accomplishments!

Paragon Open photos released!

©TimeLine Media - Paragon Open photos released

The proofing website has finished processing the web pages for the 2013 Paragon Open! All of the photos have been categorized by the man’s number, but there were a few that I could not identify. There were 24 couples that I did not find their number, so they are listed at the end of the collection as PO-XX. They are still separated to each have their own category to make it a little easier to find.

This looked like another great day of dancing! It is more of a challenge for me to categorize these since I was not there personally. I hope to have a schedule that lets me cover this, but another great photographer, Mario, took time to travel and cover this for me. He uses a similar setup and camera, so it is easy to edit these photos in post to look as good as we can. Thank you to everyone that has already visited the site since they were released last evening. I have started to work on getting your orders to the lab already.

Thanks to Andrei Gavriline and Elena Kryuchkova for having TimeLine Media cover this event for them. We hope you and the dancers from the event enjoy the photos. Hopefully, I can make it up in person next time, but it is nice to know we have colleagues that can cover these events for us. Finishing Events

©TimeLine Media - 2013 Paragon Open - finishing edits

I am finishing edits and upload of the 2013 Paragon Open photos. They will be available to view by tomorrow morning at the latest. Although I was not there in person for the competition, these images were very nicely done! On this occasion I wish I could have seen all the amazing performances in person.

If you are on the mailing list, or you like the TimeLine Media Facebook page, I will post on those two places as soon as they are ready to view. You can get on the mailing list by filling out the form at the bottom of the blog page, or by signing up at the Paragon Open event at the photo proofing site.

I want to thank Mario Brathwaite, a photography colleague of mine that was able to cover this event for us. He has covered lots of other events with us, and I trust him to get more great images of ballroom dancers when I cannot be there myself. He made some great images from this event, and I am anxious to share them with you! The finishing line is within site, so please bear with me just a little longer.
