Summer Showcase photo expiring!

Busy week at the studio! Firstly, I want to let you know that there are expiring photos on the proofing website Monday. On this occasion, the 2013 DC Area Arthur Murray Summer Showcase photos will be taken offline and put in the archives. Expiring Photos

We are finishing the sorting and uploading of the photos from last weekend’s competitions, and I will have an update on those very soon. Please check your inbox if you are on the mailing list or on our Facebook page in order to see the latest updates. The images are looking really good, and I am excited to share them with you as soon as I can! There are over 8500 photos separated into over 100 folders. At this time, we are categorizing the photos by the man’s number that was used on the score sheets. If you need any help finding your photos, please email me [ rassi @ timelinedc.com ] and I will gladly help if you need.

Busy Sunday today! Someone on the email list informed me that I forgot to post photos from the professional formation from the last Arthur Murray DC event. So sorry! Of course, I did not mean to leave them off my blogging list. It was on there, however just waiting its turn. And here they are! Overall it is a lot to take in when photographing formation groups. Especially with the staff performing at a professional level, there is a lot to attempt to capture. Of course they have the dance figures, but they have the added element of their body position to other couples. With this in mind, I don’t think I have a good strategy for photographing this aspect. I do love having the chance to try!

Arthur Murray – Chevy Chase, Maryland

It’s finally Friday! Do you have all your weekend plans ready yet? I am working on some ballroom brag books and other special orders that were placed this week, but I hope to take a break and get more photos to blog about soon. Today is a post is from the Arthur Murray studio at Chevy Chase, Maryland. This was a cool, flirty, West Coast Swing Medley professional showcase. Veteran pros Tavia and Austin showed off their West Coast for us! It looks so easy for them to do this challenging dance. I have tried a few basic steps and had to put it on the shelf for a while – my mind and feet are not quite ready!

These two have done lots of shows at the end of these events. Moreover my favorite ballroom dance photo of 2012 was from their Viennese Waltz performance. While I really like the photo, I am so glad that they feel the same way! They have quite a variety in the dances they perform, and I enjoy how their images display. Hope you enjoy them too!
