Last week, I photographed the launch party for the Babes Who Create DC Chapter. As a photographer this was an awesome assignment! Besides many attendees that were familiar with how to pose, and willing to make images for their social media, it was not difficult to make images. There were many creators that attended as the first event for this group. Moreover, the BrandBox team from Tysons Corner Center set up the space with so many opportunities to keep these creators engaged.

At first, the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue brought puppies that were available for cuddling right at the entrance. Also in the room were a number of retailers showing off their products appropriate for social media influencers. From furniture, to clothing, fitness machines, and makeup, there was plenty of things available in the mall to try. For photography geeks, there was a 360-camera available in the middle of the room. Nothing like Matrix-style portraits to boost your Instagram!

Tysons Corner Center

Last week, I covered the opening of the Change It Up Pop Up at Tysons Corner Center. Presented by the Hair Cuttery, this was a color-overload activation at the mall! Since the pop up is only open until September 3, there was a packed house with pre-registered guests that were there on opening night. Hair Cuttery founder Dennis Ratner was in attendance on this occasion before they bring this to other locations around the country. Because the Rattner Companies is based in Tysons, and the first location for the salon was in nearby Springfield, it makes sense this was their first stop. As can be seen in the photos, this was the most colorful pop up I have photographed at the mall! Instagrammers should take advantage while it is still open.
