The photos from last December’s 2016 That’s Dancing Winter Showcase are expiring at the TimeLine Media proofing site. As we posted before, it was a beautiful setting for dance photos! Thank you to everyone that visited the site to see their photos. Not to mention, we appreciate the support that you give us with purchases of prints!

Staff Shows

That’s Dancing staff put on a great show to cap off the evening! After all the work they put into the student showcases, they put that much into their shows. While we are setting up the lights before the doors open, we can see the last-minute rehearsals. They want to make sure they really have all the details down including coming on and off the floor. It shows how professional they approach all aspects of the show. However, they keep it fun for their students! Without a doubt it reflects how they run all aspects of their studio.

Linthicum, Maryland

Last week, we went to the BWI area of Maryland to cover the 2017 Baltimore Dancesport Challenge. After the week of editing and sorting, I have posted the collection of photos at the TimeLine Media proofing site. To clarify, the photos have been sorted by the gentleman’s number worn in heats. Please share the links with anyone that may like to see them:

Thanks to Marielle Pabon for having us cover her event again this year. She has been a big supporter of our work for years. Likewise, we attempt to get good marketing photos for her competition during the event. The way she sets up the ballroom makes that an easy job. For one thing, there is a beautiful dark blue curtain behind the dais. Having it just in that section, keeps the rest of the room open making it less confining than other setups we have attended. As can be seen in the above photo, the attendance was high for this event! The award break emphasized that. We hope you enjoy the images, and thank you for sharing them around!

2017 USA Dance Mid-Atlantic Championships Released

Bethesda, Maryland

This was our first ballroom dance event of 2017 – the USA Dance Mid-Atlantic Championships. Again, Jack Reinhold asked if we would be the official photographer again this year. We photographed over all three days of the competition. All the photos we made have been edited and sorted by numbers worn by leaders here:

In the same fashion as last year, we took pre-orders for photography coverage this year. Not only does this help to ensure we are getting photos for people that really want them, but it has other benefits. In the first place, I can be more creative with the images. Since I am concentrating on only a few couples at a time, I produce different kinds of images. Secondly, I don’t miss any important dances since I focus in only on those heats with customers dancing.

In general, these dancers came prepared for this competition. Since this was a qualifying event for the USA Dance Nationals, the participants were ready with that competition only a few months away. Thanks to the staff of USA Dance Mid-Eastern Chapter who worked very hard all weekend. With all the moving parts with this event, they pulled off a great event!
