Just released on the proofing website are the photos from last Saturday’s Baltimore Dancesport Challenge! We had another great day of making pictures of all the dancers throughout the day and into the evening. We have over 3500 photos from the event that can be found at this website:

All the photos are sorted by the gentlemen’s numbers that they wore for their competitive heats. If there are any mistakes, please let me know. We have done our best, but some slip by. If you have any trouble finding your photos, please let me know that also.

It is always nice to reconnect with familiar faces and see what new figures and routines you have been working on with your instructors. We enjoyed seeing the new dresses, and some dancers as well. There was plenty of time for some general dancing which had some judges out on the floor –

And also resulted in an epic Conga line that invaded the podium during a break in the action –

There were some beautiful take-home trophies for top students and teachers provided by Preciosa –

The end of the event was capped by a fantastic pro show by Nina and Dmitriy Kovalenko! I will definitely post more about their performances in future posts. It was a lot of fun to try to keep up with these two on the floor. Thank goodness my camera was ready!

Please send the link to anyone that attended, or anyone that would like to see photos of your dancing. We enjoy covering this event for Pabon Productions, and hope to see everyone on the floor again soon!

April 1

Today is April 1 or April Fool’s Day which has officially become the most annoying day to be on the internet. I won’t try any fancy computer tricks to make your browser act crazy or have any whacky gimmicks on my website today. With this in mind, I will post more of my favorite ballroom dance photos, then go back to being offline for the rest of the day. I am sure everything will return to normal tomorrow.

With this in mind, here are more of my favorites from this year’s Baltimore Dancesport Challenge that was held at the BWI Westin in Baltimore, MD. All the photos from this event are available to view at the proofing website here:

At this point, I am more than annoyed at falling for some of these pranks. Especially in the photography community, it can be easy to be taken in by some creative Photoshop work. April 1 really turned me negative early in the morning. Perhaps my brain was not quite awake to pick up on the subtle cues of a prank. Back to implementing creativity for good – Enjoy!

The end of the Baltimore Dancesport Challenge event was treated to a professional showcase  by Jean-Michel Erole and Julz Tamarkina. These American Rhythm dancers danced three shows which really ended the day on a high note. After dancing all day, there was still enthusiasm in the crowd for these two! Their precise movements, and exciting costumes really fit their character and music selections perfectly. Thanks for dancing for us, and I hope to have the chance to photograph you again soon.

All the other photos from the event will be available to view soon at the proofing website:

UPDATE! The photos are now ready to view at the TimeLine Media proofing site. Similarly to other events we have covered, all the photos have been sorted by numbers worn by gentlemen during competitive heats. Of course, we may have made some mistakes, so let me know if there are any misfield. Additionally, let me know if you have any trouble finding your photos! We know how hard you worked to prepare for this event. Not to mention, we recognize that it is not every week that you dance on a competition floor for the judges. For that reason, I want to make sure you have a chance to see the results of your efforts!
