Earlier this month I photographed the Snappy Hour and Wounded Warrior Project event at the Santa HQ in Tysons Corner Center. The evening following the opening ceremony of the set was reserved for the Wounded Warrior Project. Having this time specified for injured veterans and their families was very accommodating so they could spend some time in the set without a crowd waiting in line for them.
Snappy Hour
Another event that week was the Snappy Hour held at the Santa HQ set. In contrast to the kids that are usually the visitors, this event focused on adults looking to network with drinks and eats from Earl’s. Furthermore with Santa hanging around, it was perfect for ‘snapping’ some Instagrams!
‘Transforming Tysons: Tysons East’ was the latest Tysons Partnership event that I recently photographed. Seeing that I have been on top of this building for photos, it was nice to see the interior! Prior to going into the conference room for the panelist, there was an impressive showcase area just outside. In order to highlight the development in Tysons East, new residential areas had models and presentations of their new properties.
Transforming Tysons East
As can be seen in the photos, this was a very high tech, modern conference room. Not only did they have plenty of room for the large crowd in attendance, but they had a great lighting setup for emphasizing presenters. The dark overall room ambience made the video presentations pop! Additionally the dedicated techs also had the audio tuned for the audience. It was great to get experience in a new venue, especially in one of the tallest buildings in the state!
Last week, I photographed the 2018 Santa HQ Opening at Tysons Corner Center. Tommy McFly and Jen Richer were there to host the festivities like they have done in previous years. With a band playing, Santa made his entrance to the HGTV set that will be where his portrait sessions will be. Since there were no events prior to this opening, this was my first attempt at seeing him this year. However, I know that he will have a packed schedule once it gets going! With Tysons celebrating 50 years this year, it is not the first year for this Santa either. Moreover, I saw some parents bringing their kids to see the same Santa that they saw as a kid!
