Renewed 2012 events expiring

At this time, I wanted to remind you of expiring ballroom dance events. Prior to the holidays, I renewed some TimeLine Media events at the proofing site for gift ordering. However, these renewed events will expire again on Monday, January 7, 2013. These are mostly events that took place earlier in 2012. After many requests they were renewed for people that wanted to get photo gifts. In short, the events that will expire are:

Arthur Murray Summer Showcase

That’s Dancing Studio Summer Showcase

American Star Ball Championships

NOVA Fashion Week – Behind the Scenes

Middleburg Point – to -Point

Arthur Murray Spring Freestyles

River City Ballroom Dance Competition

Baltimore Dancesport Challenge

Marsha Bonet Workshop

Mid-Atlantic Championships

Events that were scheduled to expire after Monday will still be available to view on the website:

To be sure, I’ll be looking back on these events on the blog again. Your photos from previous events can still be retrieved from the archive. If you are interested in getting photos from them, send me an email! Given that they are archived electronically, they can be found. Although there is a $30 to go back into the archive old photos can still be retrieved. If you have any questions, please send me an email- rassi at timelinedc.com, or give me a call: 703-864-8208.

DC Area Arthur Murray – Fall Freestyles

Tysons, Virginia

We are all packed up and ready to shoot the 2011 Fall Freestyles! On this occasion the venue is the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, VA. It will be another great event organized by the DC Area Arthur Murray dance studios. Although it has not started, we have a good idea on what to expect. Surely there will be enthusiastic students and instructors cheering on their friends.

Dancers will show off their hard work from the studio on the big floor. It is always a good time, and the dancers love to view their photos as we go through them. Obviously we can’t wait to get some great photos of the professional shows that cap the event on Saturday night. In general, I save portfolio images from these pro shows as they are the capstone for a weekend of dancing.

I hope to see you there! As soon as we finish photographing, I start the post processing which takes a few days. Photos from the event will be posted here by next week:

DC Area Arthur Murray Spring Freestyles

Tysons, Virginia

These are photos from the Professional Shows at the end of the Spring Freestyles. The local DC Area Arthur Murray studios put on amazing local events. On this occasion, the surrounding studios get together and give students a great chance to show off their newest skills, and their fanciest costumes! This one was held at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner. Their main ballroom has been my personal proving ground for ballroom dance photography. Additionally it has  provided TimeLine Media with some of its best photos.

Arthur Murray Pro Shows

Featured in these photos are teachers from the Silver Spring, Tysons Corner, Alexandria, and Gaithersburg studios. These are always the capstone to the Freestyles event. After all the students have danced, competed, and received their awards, they get a chance to see demonstrations of skill by their instructors. The entire floor is for them, the entire room focuses on the floor with everyone pushing their chairs right to the edge, and I place myself in what I hope is the best spot to capture the action! It is a source of pride for each studio to see them dance, and they give us amateurs something to aspire to for the next event.
