The 2017 Summer Showcase photos are ready to view at the TimeLine Media proofing site! Last Sunday was another packed day of Arthur Murray dancing in Tysons. We had some technical snafus throughout the day, however, we made it through okay. Firstly, I would like to apologize if we missed any routines in the photos, but I think we covered everyone. Choreographed Routines

In general, you know that I like photographing the professional shows at the end of events. Similarly, it is easier to catch everyone’s perfect lines that they want in photos during their Showcase routines. Additionally, it is easier for the dancers to pose for the judges to have the best lines towards them. In the same fashion, my photographers and I position ourselves near the perspective of the judges to get a similar view. Would you agree?

Staff Shows

That’s Dancing staff put on a great show to cap off the evening! After all the work they put into the student showcases, they put that much into their shows. While we are setting up the lights before the doors open, we can see the last-minute rehearsals. They want to make sure they really have all the details down including coming on and off the floor. It shows how professional they approach all aspects of the show. However, they keep it fun for their students! Without a doubt it reflects how they run all aspects of their studio.

The photos from last weekend’s DC Area Arthur Murray 2017 Spring Freestyles have been released at the TimeLine Media proofing site! Although we had almost 10000 photos posted from the event, we have them all sorted by studio. Of course, there are likely some mistakes in there. Please let me know so I can get that corrected! Hilton Mclean Ballroom

To end the event on Saturday, they added a new set of dances compared to their usual Freestyles lineup. Direct competition is usually not an emphasis at these events for the local Arthur Murray studios. However, they have added a Club 2 Dance event. From what I saw this had a little less formal attire for the dancers similar to what they would wear at a social dancing club. Second, the style and feel that the dancers presented was more of an emphasis than technical figures. As a result, this allowed another side of the dancers to come out! It made for some different photos from the students with their teachers.
