Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We hope you are enjoying your holiday, surrounding yourself with loved ones, and eating good meals today! It has been a busy week for us in the home studio. This was another great shoot for us. The setup worked really well for us to quickly go through the photos. There was not much editing for me to do, so I was able to get through it quicker than other events. We have sorted through the photos and separated them by studio to make it easier to find your images. If we made any mistakes please let me know so I can put them in the right spots. (We were working quickly over some late nights, so there are likely to be some mistakes 🙂

Fall Showcase Editing

My feet, and back are sore, and I didn’t even dance one heat yesterday! It was a long day at the Arthur Murray Fall Showcase, but we did make lots of photos of all the routines and the All-Around competition. The dancers are starting to recover, and I have started editing the photos so that we can share them with you this weekend. We really enjoyed catching up with dancers from other studios! We appreciate all the nice feedback we received from those of you that ordered pictures and digital downloads from us. It is really nice to hear how you are displaying your photos, and showing them off to your friends.

Again we were treated to some awesome professional shows to end the evening. I have not even looked at the photos from last night, but I thought I would share some from the Fall Freestyles that have not been posted on the blog yet. This was a Cha Cha by Brandon and Carolina from Arthur Murray – Columbia.

These two put on some of the most entertaining shows! They really engage with the audience with their technical and sharp lines. Overall, it makes editing their photos an enjoyable job! Last night, they each had different partners for their professional shows which I am sure will be featured in the blog as soon as I can get them finished.

Arthur Murray Fall Showcase Today!

All day today we will be at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, VA for the DC Area Arthur Murray Fall Showcase event. It will be a great day of ballroom dancing! This is the completion of months of hard work for the students and teachers in the area studios, and I am sure they are ready to show off for their friends and studio mates. Along with the new event cards that we had printed to hand out today, we also have two new large posters to show off at the booth. One has images from the beautiful Foxtrot show by the Arthur Murray – Ashburn, VA studio.

As someone once said during an event, for some, ballroom dancing is all about the Foxtrot. It is routines like this which really makes that point! It is a credit to the dancers when the movement looks natural – like walking down the street. When in actuality it is very challenging to do! It is also a challenge to make it look different from the other smooth dances – the swaying of the Waltz, or the sharp staccato of the Tango.

We are looking forward to another great set of professional shows to finish the evening tonight. We will post more highlights from them here on the blog as the photos are completed.
