We were invited again to cover the 2017 That’s Dancing Winter Showcase! It has been a year since we have been at the Sheraton in Columbia, MD for this event. On this occasion, the theme was ‘Christmas Around the World’. As long as they are up, they will be found at this site:

Student Routines

Carlos and Jackie put together some great routines for this show. As can be seen in the photos, they were prepared well! All the numbers were done nicely, and the crowd appreciated it.

Thinking back to school, I remember giving oral reports in front of the class. With this in mind, I know the pressure to perform these routines. Not only is it difficult to remember the steps, but the nerves do not help. Surely it is harder to dance in front of your friends than strangers! So I appreciate everyone that signed up to dance. I hope you enjoy the photos!

2017 Destin Open photos Released

We have a new event on the website! The photos from the 2017 Destin Open have been released on the TimeLine Media proofing site. Of course this is the farthest we have traveled for an event in a while! Not only did we drive, but we took a train to get to Destin, Florida. At the end of the event Tom arranged for a concert in the next ballroom over! Compared to the relatively tense dancing for the judges, the concert had a completely free social dancing time. Great first time at this competition for us – thanks for inviting us!

Pro-Am Dance Competition

Garry Gekhman invited us to cover his event this year since we have seen him all over the ballroom world. From Florida to New Jersey, we have seen Garry given that he is a sought-after judge for dancing. Since he has run this competition for a few years, he was well prepared for the weekend.

On this occasion, I was impressed with how Garry worked at his event. For one thing, there are many technical elements that need to be covered. Logistically, he did most of this work himself given that there was not as many helpers there at the beginning of the weekend. Following the start, and seeing how everything ran on time, it made for a fun dance weekend! I hope you enjoy the photos.
