Professional Shows

Guadalupe Garcia and Junior Cervila capped the event with a professional show. Even if you do not know anything about Tango, you would enjoy these dancers! I would know seeing that I have a small understanding myself. In order to keep up with these two was a fun challenge! On one hand they have beautiful lines that always face the audience. Also, they have such short, quick movements that are so sharp, they really need your attention.

Finally, thanks one more time to Jennifer Bonini! With her two-day event, she is always running around keeping things going. As can be seen, the attendance grows every year, and we look to seeing them again in 2019!

I really enjoyed participating in this competition! Not only was this a nice setting for dance photos, but they added unique elements over the weekend. Firstly, there was a charitable component to some of the heats. At the end of the competition, the organizers donated to the Asheville Humane Society from the proceeds. Moreover, a resident of the Society visited with the dancers after dinner! With all the dog lovers in the crowd they were a big hit!

Professional Show

To conclude the event, Mykyta Serdyuk and Anna Krasnoshapka danced an amazing show! Their performance was in your face being that they were sos close to the audience! From a photographer perspective, my low angle and lighting worked well in this situation.

Finally thanks to Meghan and Jake for inviting me to their competition! Since we have never worked together directly, I thank them for the support. When in the Asheville area, go visit them at Wave Dance Studio. Likewise, be sure to come to their competition next year!

Professional Shows

Once all the awards were given out, the event finished with professional shows. In addition to the couples that danced, there were two studios that performed formations! Being that these are the most technical dancers, these made a big impact on the show. For one thing, they can spread out across the dance floor. Compared to single dancers, they can bring the dancing much closer to the crowd. Moreover, it was a nice contrast to see groups out there along with the single couples. In general, these performances were worth the price of admission!
