Complete Penthouse Project – Judith Weisman Interiors

Bethesda, Maryland

Today’s post looks back at a complete Penthouse project by Judith S Weisman Interiors. While working with other creatives can be stressful to some, I try to be as collaborative as possible. Not only does it make my attitude during an event more pleasant, it helps to bring people together as a team. For me, it makes the photos look much better when I review them later! In this case, Judith was terrific in showing off her work on this amazing home.

In light of the homeowner’s extensive art collection, their viewability was the overall goal of the design. Large open spaces that allowed natural light through. Judith really set the myriad of pieces in the home that gave them their own space to be appreciated.

As can be seen, there was a lot to visually take in. In fact, this looked like a museum set inside a home! Each room had numerous art pieces, but also had seating and other comforts making it a livable space. Being that all the surfaces looked new, I was appreciative of all the details that went into the complete penthouse project. It was a daunting task to document all that had been done. Be that as it may, I can see the collaboration between Judith, the designer, and the homeowner to pull it all together.

Aeren Waters at Qui Piece

Nerea Gibson – founder and designer at Aeren Waters ©TimeLine Media

Baltimore, Maryland

Earlier this month, I photographed Aeren Waters at Qui Piece in Baltimore. This shoot marked another progression in Nerea’s fashion career! Previously I have made images of some of her designs. Colorful purses, bags, and accessories are the main products in her line so far. Being that she was also a colleague from the lab branching out into an art business, I am very supportive of her efforts!

On this occasion, she wanted to get some images in front of the Qui Piece store front. Not only will this location now have some of her pieces for sale, but Nerea also teaches some sewing classes here. It was heartening to see her giving back by teaching others to further their skills in fashion!

Although we met in the early afternoon, I still found some good areas for photos. Given that it was overcast for the day, we had some nice even light on her face. I only popped a little fill flash balanced with ambient for a little lift. Best of luck with Nerea for the new store front!

District Fete

In April, I photographed the Small Biz Pitch Event in Washington, DC. Andrew Roby the event producer from District Fete was holding this event for entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. Similar to a show like “Shark Tank” this event would give business owners a chance to present the story, product, and their vision of the future.

It was inspiring for me to be in the room as they did their presentations. In addition to get good feedback from the judges, the presenters needed to have a few items prepared. Moreover, a combination of an interesting product, and a clear view of where they want to go helped get their point across. Moreover, this will help them pitched to investors for their company.

Andrew Roby

Andrew Roby is an event planner and producer working in the DC metro area. I have worked with him on a number of fashion shows, media events, and parties where customers are looking for a high-end event that look great on social networks. His events run smoothly even if there are a lot of moving parts.

At this event, there were 3 judges, 10 presenters, sponsors, and a sold out audience. The site for the event was the very modern workspace at iStrategy Labs. Not only was this a great place to have an assembly for this kind of event, but it was a very creative space for this creative agency. It was an appropriate space for aspiring creatives to further their business aspirations.
