Healthy & Happy! 32!

It’s my birthday today, and I’m so grateful to all my friends and family who sent good wishes to me today. It has been a life-changing year for me. With the support of my wife, I left a good job to pursue a dream of running my own business. I have received the support of photography and financial mentors to help me through the opening stages. With my business partner, we have finally started to get something going after founding TimeLine Media three years ago!

My mother has also supported me in this time giving me advice and pushing me to pursue things as seriously as she has all my other interests. My uncle has been there for extra help when extra hands were needed. He even helped us by driving most of the way from Virginia to Chicago! Old work colleagues have been encouraging and genuinely happy for the new direction I’ve taken. Although I am incredibly satisfied with how things are going, I still miss the everyday interaction with a large group of similarly minded people working on big projects. It’s just me and my technology working on my projects now, but the rewards seem more fulfilling, and more my own. I am looking forward to the next year – more changes, more learning, and more photos!

Summer Fun!

It’s been a crazy summer, so I have not had a chance to update this blog. What have I been up to? I have photographed some weddings, some parties, some portraits, and a lot of family get-togethers. Here are some of my favorites – some not portfolio worthy, but some great memories. Here are some pics from when my cousin Christina visited after working at Busch Gardens for her summer break. Enjoy!

Visiting the airport is always filled with lots of energy! There is a lot to do, and many tasks you need to get done. Additionally, there is the emotions of separating from friends or family. At this time, it was a happy sendoff. My cousin worked close by during her summer break. Now, she was returning to the Philippines with her friends. Obviously I was impressed with what she has accomplished. Being that she is coming halfway around the world to work, I am wondering if I could do something like that. Considering she had to work speaking a language that is not native to her, in a part of the world she is not familiar, that is impressive. Best of luck Christina, and I hope we get to see each other again in the future!

Happy New Year!

I miss 2007 already with new year just a few days old. The Hokies fell short at the Orange Bowl, and the Redskins just ended their up and down and up season with a loss last night. With this in mind, the sports fandom closes down for another year. Now, I start going through my photos from the holiday season.

Obviously Christmas decor donned on walls and in the background make for pleasing indicators of the time of year. While we do not have many at home, our relatives go out of their way to deck their halls. So, I take advantage of them when it fits well for the photos.

Aside from the sports, everything else seems to be going well! Family is happy and healthy, and I’m hopeful for progressing in my new career in 2008. Taking a page from my cousin Renato, I will attempt to update my blog more often to keep track of where I am, and where I’m going. So here are some pics form Christmas in D.C. and New Year’s celebrations.
