Santa HQ set in Fashion Court at Tysons Corner Center
Tysons Corner Center
Last week, I photographed the 2018 Santa HQ Opening at Tysons Corner Center. Tommy McFly and Jen Richer were there to host the festivities like they have done in previous years. With a band playing, Santa made his entrance to the HGTV set that will be where his portrait sessions will be. Since there were no events prior to this opening, this was my first attempt at seeing him this year. However, I know that he will have a packed schedule once it gets going! With Tysons celebrating 50 years this year, it is not the first year for this Santa either. Moreover, I saw some parents bringing their kids to see the same Santa that they saw as a kid!

The 2018 Tysons Tailgate was held last month at Valo Park. In brief, this is one of the most popular events produced by the Tysons Partnership! However, this was the first time I was attending. Given that I heard so much about this event in previous years, I was looking forward to this event. As can be seen from the photos, there was a very good reason that all of the photos were under a tent. RAIN! This was not only rain, but a driving downpour that kept everyone cozy.
As far as Tysons Partnership events go, this was unquestionable the most casual. Now that does not mean it was the most fun as the members really bring a friendly energy to their events. The flexibility in the less-than-ideal weather helped to make this event go smoothly! I look forward to coming back next year in hopefully nicer weather.
Opening of the robot painting art project in Fashion Court

Today is my 42nd birthday! Although it looks like this is just another post from the mall, it is an appropriately personal post too. Last week was the opening of Tysons Then and Now, a project done by me and Pindar Van Arman.

VIP Attendees
In addition to the County executives, Congressman Connolly, and mall management, Pindar and I invited our family to attend the opening. My mom made the trip to see the exhibition that included some robot painted pieces using my photography as a reference. As much as my mom appreciates what I do, it was nice to have her see my work as part of this attention-grabbing exhibit. Likewise, I felt proud to be part of the team that produced such amazing work! Thanks, Becca, for adding me and my photos to a cool look at Tysons!
