The Palm, Tysons, Virginia

Last week, I photographed the reception for Luzia opening in Tysons. Following the construction of the tent by the Galleria for the Cirque du Soleil show, the Tysons Partnership held a reception at the Palm. On this occasion, they could not have picked a more perfect afternoon for an outdoor reception! For one thing, it was not very humid, and the shade from the Palm Restaurant building shielded the crowd from any hard sunlight. Overall, this made for an easy assignment for photos.

Afterwards, the group had access to an early showing of ‘Luzia – A Waking Dream of Mexico’. Being that it was so close to the restaurant, the group just walked over. I look forward to seeing the show while it is in Tysons this summer!

Tusculum Farm

Last fall, I photographed the 70 Year Celebration for the Carl M. Freeman Companies. Since I had not been to this venue before, I arrived very early for the event. Tusculum Farm in Laytonsville, Maryland was where the employees and their families met for the celebration. This was a particularly beautiful setting for an outside celebration. Again, I was thankful for the referral from current clients for new work!

As the day progressed, there were so many activities for guests to do. There was plenty of food and drink to sample from barbecue to beer trucks. Additionally, there was a cigar specialist that was giving tutorials on smoking cigars with sips of brandy. While walking through the farm, I was impressed with the art pieces that made the place more interesting than the typical farm. Finally, the group photo of all the employees that could make the 70 year celebration capped a great Freeman Day at the Farm.

2017 Santa Visits

The Life with Cancer Family Center in Fairfax welcomes Santa
The Life with Cancer Family Center in Fairfax welcomes Santa

This is an emotional reflection of the 2017 Santa Visits outside of the mall. By all means Santa is a big draw to Tysons Corner Center during the holidays. However, not everyone can make it to see him. Despite his very busy schedule, Santa makes time for visits outside of the mall. Following the big guy around medial centers in the area is very inspiring. While trying to keep the spirit of the season in mind, Santa brings such good feelings to patients and workers that are going through tough times. Cancer does not know that it is the Christmas season, and kids do not want to be going through treatments. In the hope that Santa can give them a small distraction, he really gives all of his energy to lift the spirits of patients and their families.
