Food & – TEDxTysons

Last month, I photographed another event at 1st Stage – Food & – a TEDxTysons salon. In like fashion, this was a new venue for me to photograph. I emphatically appreciate the opportunity that Ashwood, Stacy, and Josh have given me in covering their events! Not only are they a fun photographic challenge, but it is a privilege to be in the room for these talks.

Speakers – Food & – TEDxTysons

Similar to other salons in spaces that are purpose-built for productions, this was a great venue for photos. Even though the theater lights can look painfully bright, cameras will take as much light as they can take! Moreover 1st Stage is built with a staircase through the middle of the room. Tysons Corner Center

Over the last couple of months, I completed a number of shoots to capture 2018 2nd Quarter Media at Tysons Corner Center. Surely the mall changes as time goes by both in stores and in advertising. But I never really noticed as closely until now. With all the changes, the Macerich marketing team wanted me to get photos of the special events and temporary retail spaces along with the changes in media.

From a photography standpoint, these kinds of assignments slow me down. Generally in a good way! Of course I would like to have people in the frame so that the clients see a good number of eyes on their media. Additionally, I usually shoot these on a tripod. This keeps the lines straight, and can slow the shutter speed down to get a blur as people walk through the frame.
