The photos from last weekend’s 2018 Asheville Dance Classic are ready to view! This is a brand new event for us even though we have worked with the organizers previously. Since finishing the editing, I have sorted the photos by gentlemen’s number and posted them here:

2018 Asheville Dance Classic

Meghan and Jake invited us to beautiful Asheville, NC. Given that this is a busy time for events, I was happy that I could make it this year! I made the trip down by myself on this occasion. Although I did not have any assistants, the organizers really helped me all weekend.

Their venue was amazing, in fact, looking like a much larger competition. You can undoubtedly see Meghan’s talent for design in the ballroom setup. Colorful lighting, a dynamic slideshow, and a huge dance floor was a great setting for the weekend. I hope you enjoy the images!

2017 Aeren Waters Fashion

Last year, we collaborated for a 2017 Aeren Waters Fashion shoot for accessory bags. Unlike most fashion designers, Nerea has an untraditional background. For one thing, she is a scientist for her day job! Similarly, her model friends that helped out with this shoot also work in the sciences. With this in mind, I was sure to stay on my toes since I wanted to be efficient with their time.

At this time, Nerea wanted to have nice strong natural light for these photos. Along with the strong colors of her materials, we brought in some nice complimentary colors with the car, building walls, and foliage. Given that this close to the middle of the day, it would have been difficult to use a flash even for balancing the exposure.

After all the ‘real’ photos were done, we took some time keep up some images on social media. As can be seen we had a really great time on this shoot, and I was so happy with the photos. I look forward to the next one!

Pro-Am Performances

Now that we are done with an event, I can take some time to review. As I looked, this event had 550 heats! With this in mind, I found that was 100 more than the Spring Freestyles. Thus we did end up with significantly more images. Since we have now been at this same ballroom for years, our lighting is now set for these. However, I think there is still a difference in the kinds of images we make. For one thing, we have different photographers that help cover the events with us. But that does not mean we compromise on quality of photos. Let us know if you have any feedback for us – we still have more of these on the future schedule. Enjoy!
