10th Anniversary

Although we got to many ballroom dance event, we only know about photos. For this reason, we take for granted all the preparation before the weekend. Not only is this a special day for the guests, but it is a change for the studio’s schedule. In the first place, they have to prepare the dancing space. Secondly the staff has to coordinate the helpers and vendors at the event. Once it starts, things go smoothly thanks to all their preparation! Thanks for all of your work, and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Tysons Corner Center

Today is my 42nd birthday! Although it looks like this is just another post from the mall, it is an appropriately personal post too. Last week was the opening of Tysons Then and Now, a project done by me and Pindar Van Arman.

VIP Attendees

In addition to the County executives, Congressman Connolly, and mall management, Pindar and I invited our family to attend the opening. My mom made the trip to see the exhibition that included some robot painted pieces using my photography as a reference. As much as my mom appreciates what I do, it was nice to have her see my work as part of this attention-grabbing exhibit. Likewise, I felt proud to be part of the team that produced such amazing work! Thanks, Becca, for adding me and my photos to a cool look at Tysons!

State Theater – TEDxTysons

Falls Church, Virginia

A couple of weeks ago, TEDxTysons asked if I could make some photos of the State Theater for them. Similarly to the very first shoot, I ever did for them, Ashwood and I met at the venue for their upcoming main event. In contrast to the soaring heights of a tall commercial building, we were at the State Theater in Falls Church.

While we were on site, we had the stage managers set the lighting. As can be seen here, the saturated red and purple colors flooded the stage as they will during their event. With this in mind, these images would be used as teasers for ‘Legacy’ scheduled for this coming November.

State Theater – Exterior

Outside, the theater set the lettering on the marquee saying that the show was sold out. Afterwards, I had retouchers change this to have the date of the show. Thus same images can be used for 2 different uses! This was a fun project to work on. I hope it works to pack the house in November – join us!
