Thank you!

Thank you to all of the brides-to-be and their family and friends that stopped by the TimeLine Media booth at the Dulles Expo Center this past Sunday. We were a part of the Washington Bridal Showcase. There was an amazing amount of people that attended this event especially considering it was Superbowl Sunday! If you are at all planning a wedding in the D.C. area, this is where you need to go. You will get the most complete participation of wedding vendors in the area. In attendance were photographers to florists, reception sites, review sites, transportation, cakeries, etc.

I also have to thank our neighboring booths: weddzilla.com and the Thomas Birkby House. We had a lot of traffic come by, and we got a chance to give our information to a lot of brides that were attracted to their displays as well as ours! Accordingly, I felt like my placement was in the middle of other outstanding professionals which made me look better!

If you did get to see us at the show, please drop us a line – we’d love to know what you thought of our presentation. We will definitely be back to showcase our work at a future show.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by the TimeLine Media wedding photography booth last weekend

Seldex matted albums

In preparation for the upcoming bridal show in Chantilly, I had some sample wedding albums made for the display. The Seldex 10 inch square album from Finao is the one shown here. It is a more traditional album in that it is made with photographic prints that are matted to the pages of the book. I have seen many albums that are available at retail shops, but this album is definitely a cut above. The cover on this particular album is “Burgundy Nepal” color made from an imitation leather material.

Mat Prints

I assemble each of these albums myself. It starts with designing of mat placement, editing and retouching of the photos. Finally the assembling of the photos/mats to the final book pages.

Each mat in the album is white with a white core although other colors and combinations are available from the manufacturer. The mat itself has a very fine texture to give the pages a feel similar to linen right up to the edges of each mat opening.

Each page of the book has a protective metal corner colored to match the pages. In this case it makes book assembly easier. Additionally, protects the edges as the book is used over time.

The binding for the book is very thick, and is very secure. The cover material is soft and pliable ensuring a long life of use either on a table or on a shelf. This book is definitely made to be used! This type of album could also be used as a parent album as it can be made in smaller dimensions, or as a proof-like album from a wedding or portrait session. This is definitely recommended if you’re looking for a matted album that is secured in it’s construction, yet customizable for each project.

USA Dance 2009 Southeastern Championships

More fun dance news! TimeLine Media will be the photography vendor for the USA Dance 2009 Southeastern Championships. On this occasion it will be held February 28 – March 1, 2009. The competition will be held at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda. This will be another great chance to get photos of dancers that have worked so hard with their instructors for this special event. I am so excited as the great hobby of ballroom dance is mixing well with my photography! I will be posting the images from the event at this website when they are available. As always, my best wishes are for the dancers to do well, then to enjoy the pictures afterwards after all the nerves and adrenaline! Best of luck!

USA Dance Mideastern MD-VA Chapter

UPDATE – this is a couple of years after this post was made. At this time I wanted to beef up the content of these USA Dance posts. For this reason, I am amazed at the change in these blog posts. Not only is the content different, but I can’ t imagine posting without any of my photos along with the text! However, this was very early in my photography career. In fact, this was the first time we ever covered this event. We look forward to our continued partnership!
