Salsa Bachata Throwdown

Last Saturday, I covered an exciting new event in the DC Area – the Salsa Bachata Throwdown! During the day on Saturday, there were workshops with many dancers from area coming to learn from some great groups including Calle Luna from Pennsylvania, and Rhythmic Fusion from California. In the evening, there was plenty of time for some social dancing to the music from DJ Jose Moldanado. In between the open dancing, were some performances by the visiting and host groups. I am still editing the photos, but here are some of my favorites so far.

I want to especially thank Kat Arias for inviting me to cover her event! She is one of the most passionate influencers in the DC dance scene. This was a continuation of her mission to get people dancing!

Photos expiring

I have a quick post on photos expiring today. It is another shooting day for me, so I don’t have time for a full post. But I wanted to drop a reminder that the sale on the 2013 Arthur Murray Spring Freestyles is expiring today. Also, the 2012 Arthur Murray Fall Showcase photos will be sent to the archives today as well. This will be your last chance to view the photos without the $30 re-upload charge. After today, I will be getting down to some editing, so more updates will be coming this week. Here are some photos from the 2012 American Star Ball in Atlantic City, NJ. Day at the Races

It was a late night of dancing at the Salsa-Bachata Throwdown last night. And it’s an early call this morning at the races! At this time, I am out getting some video and photos at the racetrack. I’m getting some good video for a personal project. The red car below was built and raced by my father in law. It is a beautiful convertible that resembles a Shelby Cobra. I particularly like the peal red paint. It is easy to find as his group zips around the track.

Since this is a large racing facility, you cannot see all the track from any vantage point. With this in mind, you need to pick certain areas and stay in that area for the entire race. Although you cannot see everything, there is nice access to exciting curves around the infield. I plan to have a short video to share with you soon. It’s a beautiful day to be outside! Hope you too are enjoying the weather.
