Rising from the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center, their large Christmas tree was a focal point this holiday season. Once the holiday market tents were built, and the tree put in place, the crowds started to gather. Finally it was time for the 2015 Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony!
Earl’s – Tysons, VA
Whereas Earl’s ice rink on the Plaza was a place to play and cool off, their restaurant warms you up. After all the skating, the inviting bar at the Earl’s adjacent to the Plaza is a perfect meeting spot.
Soon, the ceremony was ready to begin. Chilli Amar, and Loo Katz of 97.1 WASH-FM met Santa at the ice rink. Doug Hill came to give us good weather predictions for the night. Elliott Yamin sang some holiday favorites and the tree was lit!
Christmas Eve is just around the corner! With this in mind, it is appropriate for some Santa photos from the 2015 Santa Breakfast on the blog. Although I have come across a few versions of the big guy, the one at Tysons Corner Center is the real deal! As well as being patient with all the work obligations, he continues to do an amazing job every year.
Santa HQ
In addition to the Santa Breakfast, there were many sightings of him around the mall this year. In order to open the Santa HQ, where is sat for may family portraits this holiday season, there was an opening ceremony for the set. When he opened the set, a band played, Tommy McFly from Fresh FM opened the set, and gifts were given out. Merry Christmas!
In April, I photographed the Small Biz Pitch Event in Washington, DC. Andrew Roby the event producer from District Fete was holding this event for entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. Similar to a show like “Shark Tank” this event would give business owners a chance to present the story, product, and their vision of the future.
It was inspiring for me to be in the room as they did their presentations. In addition to get good feedback from the judges, the presenters needed to have a few items prepared. Moreover, a combination of an interesting product, and a clear view of where they want to go helped get their point across. Moreover, this will help them pitched to investors for their company.
Andrew Roby
Andrew Roby is an event planner and producer working in the DC metro area. I have worked with him on a number of fashion shows, media events, and parties where customers are looking for a high-end event that look great on social networks. His events run smoothly even if there are a lot of moving parts.
At this event, there were 3 judges, 10 presenters, sponsors, and a sold out audience. The site for the event was the very modern workspace at iStrategy Labs. Not only was this a great place to have an assembly for this kind of event, but it was a very creative space for this creative agency. It was an appropriate space for aspiring creatives to further their business aspirations.
