Changes for 2012

There are some changes coming to the websites associated with TimeLine Media . We are working to make it easier for you to find what you came here for. First, the blog, which I hope to update at least twice as often as I did in 2011,  has now moved to a new address – https://blog.timelinedc.com

I will try to post information from recent shoots for those that like to see some quick previews of their photos, or post a look back at some older shoots that job my memory or inspire me to write for some reason! I have made so many photos, it would be a shame not to share them. Announcing some upcoming shoots is also part of the plan – hopefully I’ll be better prepared so I don’t sound too crazy before an event when I post here.

The other change to the website will be to the proofing of photos. The new website where images will be posted for preview and purchase will be – http://www.timelinedc.com/proofs

This will allow me to give other options that have been requested that I could not provide at the previous site. I hope to be putting some test events up soon, and hope you will give it a try for me. Nothing like real-world testing to break it in. If you have any suggestions for me about our photos, or if there is anything you would like me to post, please let me know! We are always on the look out for new ways to present photos – from prints to albums, and now calendars! More to come on that soon.

Happy 2012!

It’s a new year, and I am working on a lot of projects. Some are exciting, and some especially useful for those that go to the website for viewing and purchasing photos. Speaking of which, THANK YOU! To all of you that have visited the website, looked through your photos, and supported us by purchasing prints, posters, and books – I’m so glad that you found photos that you wanted to keep for yourself! We continue to look for more ballroom dance, portraits, weddings, and other events. If it fits our schedule, I would be interested to photograph this year. With this in mind we have some lined up already. (If you need any help with photography for you, your family, or your business, please let me know.)

I am working on changes to the website that hopefully will bring some new features that you have requested. It will be a work in progress, so let me know if you run into any problems. I hope that it will still be as accessible and easy to use as the old system, and I will test it thoroughly. If you have any other suggestions as to products that we could offer, or other changes that we may be able to incorporate into the site, please let me know.

My email is: rassi (at) timelinedc.com and my phone number is 703-864-8208. Thanks again for viewing our blog, website, and Facebook page [ http://www.facebook.com/timelinemedia ], and we hope to help you with GREAT photos in 2012!

A Cappella – The Sing Off – SingStrong

Reston, Virginia

This is the third season for the NBC Show ‘The Sing Off’ which airs on Monday nights. Being that I am a former member of Juxtaposition, a college a cappella group from Virginia Tech, I was automatically hooked on this show. (I spent a lot of my extra college money on CDs which has transitioned to a downloading habit!) When this show debuted, I was excited to have another vehicle to see new a cappella groups.

There were groups that I was very familiar with and some that I had never been exposed to performing. There was an audience for the show from the first season. Consequently, there were an uptick in the amount of internet traffic regarding this form of music. At this time, I was lucky to find out that an a cappella music festival was held locally called SingStrong. The organizers graciously gave me access to photograph the groups, workshops, and the concerts. All of the proceeds which were donated in support of Alzheimer’s research.

Performers

The featured performers were prominently featured in the The Sing Off including Nota in 2010 and Street Corner Symphony in 2011. This was an amazing opportunity for me to see what was new and upcoming in a cappella up close with the latest in techniques, technologies and musicians that are pushing creative limits and making amazing music. This season is the largest yet – more groups, more rounds of competition, and another episode is on tonight. Check it out, and if you are in the DC area, or love to watch live music, check out SingStrong for next year’s schedule.
