Finally, Thanks to Marielle and Carlos for inviting me to their studio! Seeing that there was very little room to move around, it shows their growing popularity. Not only do they have regular students progressing through their program, but they have new students getting out there. Unquestionably it is more difficult to dance in front of friends than complete strangers. This is in contrast to competitions where the crowd is generally more unfamiliar. So this is a great practice for their Baltimore Dancesport Challenge event that they also organize. For this reason, they will be making a studio that will compete for top prizes in the near future!

The photos from last Saturday’s 2018 That’s Dancing Summer Showcase are ready to view! Although it has been a couple of years since I have been to their studio, things are going well. Marielle invited me back to cover their studio event, and some new developments for That’s Dancing. Because of a leak that damaged their floor earlier in the year, they have a new dance floor! Undeniably having a nice surface for dancing is essential for a studio. Now their space is ready for events as well practice.

If the costumes and make up look a bit strange, it is important to realize the Showcase theme. Superheroes tied all the dance numbers together obviously in the dress, but also in the music. Modern movie soundtracks consequently give inspiration through music tracks perfect for dancing!

That’s Dancing 2016 Summer Showcase Expiring

Staff Shows

Marielle really puts a very nice show together for their Showcases. Once you attend and see the thought put into their themes, you will be impressed! For one thing, this is something that will have to be planned for very early. Especially those doing dance routines need to have costumes and music that fit the theme. Of course the staff helps students pull that off, then they work on staff shows that do the same. In like fashion, they use the staff shows to tie in the theme as well as giving the students something to work towards. To illustrate what is possible with their dancing at the studio, they give students new goals for their next showcase. Because December will come quickly, it will not be long before they are back practicing and learning. See you at the next one!
