2017 Baltimore Dancesport Challenge photos Expiring

The photos from last March’s 2017 Baltimore Dancesport Challenge are expiring on August 28. This fall, we will be covering more dance events so we need to make room on the server. After that Monday, the photos will be moved to the archive server. Here is the link if you have not seen them yet:

Slawek & Denise

To finish the day of dancing, Slawek Roszak & Denise Sobiewski danced a set of professional shows. This was the first time I have photographed them, and they were excellent! On this occasion they danced a set of Smooth routines that really engaged with the crowd. Along with their Dore Designs costumes, the dress colors were varied for each, and popped nicely. Making a connection with the audience is important for anyone performing. These two definitely made connections, and it seemed she was looking right through the camera lens throughout their routines!

Thanks again for Marielle for inviting us back to her event! Particularly her experience and motivation to have a premier dancesport event in Baltimore was a success. You can see video on the PabonPro YouTube channel. Moreover, The BWI Westin is a beautiful ballroom, and judging by the growing participants year after year shows her efforts are paying off. We appreciate the support from all the dancers that bought digital files and prints from this event. We hope they got to you in good condition, and we look forward to seeing them on social media!

2017 Summer Concert Series – Tysons Corner Center

This year’s 2017 Summer Concert Series was an amazing lineup that filled up the Plaza every Friday! Prior to the start of the series, I thought it would be tough to top the great performers from last year. Now that it is finished, I am impressed with the turnout for the concerts. While most of the concerts were hosted by 94.7 Fresh FM, the WGTS crowd really filled in the Plaza to the edges! However, all of the performances had large crowds making photography very easy. Especially the LeAnn Rimes performance where the Macerich team really needed to work to pull that off. On this occasion, the outdoor Plaza switched to an indoor concert. Although some of these acts I did not recognize at first, now I am a fan! To see all the photos from these performances, you can view them on the Tysons Corner Center Facebook page. Enjoy!

2017 USA Dance Mid-Atlantic Championships Expiring

The photos are expiring from the 2017 USA Dance Mid-Atlantic Championships at the TimeLine Media proofing site. Thanks to everyone that visited the site, and shared the link to the photos! We are grateful for the support and all the nice messages from the dancers. Congratulations to everyone that qualified for Nationals, and for those that were crowned Champions at this event!

Not only is the Bethesda North Marriott a beautiful ballroom, it is a wonderful space in general to hold an event. The large space provided plenty of room for our lighting. At the same time, the warm colored walls helps the colors pop. Also, the organizers added the stadium lighting in the corners highlighting the action on the floor.

As much as I enjoy collaborations on photography projects, I was secretly pleased to photograph this entire event. By concentrating on only the couples that wanted photos of their dancing, I had a better chance of getting all their nice lines on the dance floor. Another benefit is how the final images look. Moreover, the editing was much faster. Owing to being next to the floor all weekend, I got into a ‘rhythm’ of working. With this in mind, I did not have to do as much with the photos after the event. From the feedback I received from customers, it seems they appreciated it too!
