Professional Showcase

After dinner and awards, Tal Livshitz and Ilana Keselman performed a show. Prior to them taking the floor, I heard Garry speaking with them. Obviously they had a very warm relationship that has carried over the years. When they took the floor, the really gave an amazing display of their talent!

All in all, I was very please with the images from this show. Since it was our second time in this room, I learned from last year. Our setup gave me a better chance for more even lighting to the front of the dancers. Of course having excellent performers helps to make these images pop! Thanks again to Garry for inviting us to his event again this year.

Guadalupe Garcia and Junior Cervila capped the event with a professional show. Even if you do not know anything about Tango, you would enjoy these dancers! I would know seeing that I have a small understanding myself. In order to keep up with these two was a fun challenge! On one hand they have beautiful lines that always face the audience. Also, they have such short, quick movements that are so sharp, they really need your attention.

Finally, thanks one more time to Jennifer Bonini! With her two-day event, she is always running around keeping things going. As can be seen, the attendance grows every year, and we look to seeing them again in 2019!

Finally, Thanks to Marielle and Carlos for inviting me to their studio! Seeing that there was very little room to move around, it shows their growing popularity. Not only do they have regular students progressing through their program, but they have new students getting out there. Unquestionably it is more difficult to dance in front of friends than complete strangers. This is in contrast to competitions where the crowd is generally more unfamiliar. So this is a great practice for their Baltimore Dancesport Challenge event that they also organize. For this reason, they will be making a studio that will compete for top prizes in the near future!
