Tysons Corner Center

Last week, I photographed the 2020 JA Trade Show at Tysons Corner Center. Since both Tysons Corner Center and Brandbox sponsored the show, they had a nice showcase this Sunday morning. Overall, I was impressed with the work that these student teams put into their entrepreneurial projects. During this show, they were debuting their companies and products for sale to the public.

While walking through the trade show, I was impressed with the professionalism of the teams. Over a six-month period, the team worked further with business professionals to form a build a startup. With this in mind I could not imagine how difficult this would be to do over this amount of time. Perhaps some of these products will return to a future location in the mall!

Stone Tower Winery

Hitting the ground running in 2020 is important for the Tysons Chamber Board. Not only do they have Signature Events that require months of planning, they also have new initiatives on the table. Also, they have some new board members this year that are enthusiastic to put their stamp on the Chamber with their expertise!

Board Retreat

If making ‘Connections that Matter’ is the goal of the Tysons Chamber, by all means this retreat fit the bill. Stone Tower Winery is a beautiful venue for this gathering. With the size of the group, they were seated in a private tasting room. As can be seen in the photos, the table was set up in between large fermenting barrels. A sommelier poured a selection of wines for tasting. After all the tasting, the group met for lunch and continued the planning for 2020. It should be a great year for the Chamber!

Dr. Maureen Mcintosh-Alberts is an executive personal coach. From her office, she manages a team that helps leaders attain higher levels for their organizations. Her home is her office, library, and meeting space for group work. At this time, I came to photograph her in the spaces where she does her work. For branding shoots, it is important to illustrate where people get inspiration, and do their best work.

Inside her home, Dr. Maureen has created a space for deep thinking and analysis. With lots of colors, and textures, it also gives a creative feeling. This is an area where clients are looking to find novel answers, so this environment fosters that. With a couple of flashes, I was able to light her and her rooms nicely.

In her library, she had an incredible collection of books. Moreover, she had an impressive collection of large printed photographs that her husband created. Without a doubt, this was my favorite are for photos. She is an academic, and these books contributed to where she and her business is today. It was a perfect setting to illustrate her growing brand!
