With the start of another year, I wanted to look back at the 2019 4th Quarter Media at Tysons Corner Center. Prior to the holiday shopping season, the traffic through the mall was the highest. In this case, it was easy to get photos of the media along with a lot of people in the frame.
In these photo, there was an ad pasted onto the Concourse entrance from the Plaza. Presently this is the nicest branding for the mall of all their entrances. With the large glass wall as a backdrop, this is a great showcase to place an ad especially with the foot traffic from the Metro, hotel, and restaurants into the mall.
The BrandBox area also had some changes for the holidays. While they had some new stores that also needed photos, the BrandBox Marketplace was also opened highlighting many assorted brands in one location. Again the flexibility of these spaces was on display as they quickly opened these spaces in time for holiday shoppers.
Last week was 2019 Black Friday – the busiest shopping day at Tysons Corner Center. In light of it being a couple of years since I have been here the day after Thanksgiving, it was a spectacle! The Macerich marketing team wanted me to get some great images specifically of the crowds. In general, there was no area inside that was not filled with shoppers. Moreover, there was significant traffic coming into the center in cars!
The open area overlooking the levels from the 3rd Floor Food court is an especially nice viewpoint. Because of the nice large skylight windows, this sunny day really had a lot of light streaming in. Hopefully everyone braved the conditions and finished all their shopping!
I photographed a completed kitchen and bath project for LUSH interior design at a home in Alexandria. Since this was my first time working with Emilie, I was anxious about creating great images for her. Luckily, as soon as I saw her completed projects, I knew it would be great. Above all, her design for this kitchen and bathroom was amazing! Compared to the ‘before’ images that she showed me, these two rooms are more modern, light and airy. Going with that vibe, I had an objective for these photos.
When going to the bathroom, I could see beautiful materials and fixtures that were chosen for the space. The dark blue cabinet really balanced against the white tiles on the floors and walls. From a photography standpoint, I wanted to convey how airy and spacious the room felt. Walking in from a dark bathroom was a big contrast in light. It is easy to see how this talented designer transforms rooms to be more modern, functional, and beautiful!
