Thankful holiday time

Reflecting on this 2016 Christmas Day, I am nothing but thankful. In short, my family is happy and healthy which is all you can ask for. Moreover, I am so fulfilled with my photography career. Over this year as I have noted, there have been new projects, new clients, and thousands of new photos.

All in all, making new photos is the best part about this career. You challenge yourself to make something unique, and to get into new events. Especially since I do not consider myself the most aggressive marketer, I am thankful that people have found me. Moreover, I appreciate my current clients that come back for repeat business.

Even if I were to say that I am content with my scheduled clients, I am still looking to do even more next year. I’ll keep myself available, and continue to be a presence in the Tysons, Virginia area for assignments. In any case, I am so thankful for you blog readers that follow along. These are the last events that I covered of Santa at Tysons Corner Center. As I have noted previously, the 2016 Santa Breakfast is one of the most attended events during the holidays. Not only do you get a nice breakfast, but you get to see Santa and the Funny Little People perform too!

Washington, DC – 94.7 Fresh FM

Another morning, I got up early to photograph Santa on a field trip! We drove from Tysons to Southwest DC to the studios of 94.7 Fresh FM. Since the Tommy Show visited the Santa HQ set for many events, this time we went to their studios. Broadcasting across the region, Santa took questions from kids and parents for Christmas. Also, he played some games with the in-studio audience, and took lots of photos. Surely his performance solidified his stardom as the man to visit during the holidays!

Tysons Corner Center

As can be seen from the nearby roads, the Tysons Corner Center Plaza is decorated for the holidays! Kris Allen performed at the 2016 Christmas Tree Lighting event. Even if the weather was warmer than usual, it did not dampen the holiday spirits. In case you were not convinced, the artificial snow machine was turned on to add some wintry sparkle!

On this occasion, American Idol winner Kris Allen played selection of holiday music. Some were familiar songs, however, he has a lot of original songs in his set as well. Santa and personalities from 97.1 WASH FM also added to the show. Seeing that 97.1 has been playing all-Christmas music for a few weeks now, it was an added benefit to see an artist singing live.

After that, Kris walked down to the Santa HQ set. Along with the big guy, they had a short meet and greet with fans. Having the chance to meet an American Idol and to get a photo with Santa was a nice combination right before Christmas. Take some time to see the beautifully lit tree out on the Plaza before the new year! The changing colors keep it looking fresh!
