Tysons Corner Center

Last week, I photographed more cute dogs at the BrandBox 2019 Holiday Puppies event in Tysons Corner Center. Similarly to the last event with the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, you had an opportunity to cuddle with puppies! In contrast to last time, the pet area was out in the middle of the hallway as the BrandBox lounge has made way for another store opening soon. Being so close to the holidays, there were Christmas trees surrounding the area, and Santa made an appearance. Another set of dogs were available for people to pick up, cuddle, and put on the list for Santa. It is so heartening to see the work that the members of the WTAR put into caring for these dogs!

Industrious – Arlington, Virginia

Andrew Clark led another non-profits panel discussion at Industrious for the Tysons Chamber. At the Courthouse location, he moderated the 2019 Charity to Change event. Erin Fuller, Tucker Wannamaker, and Sid Ghatak were on the panel in particular for their experience in charitable organizations.

Panel Discussion

Once the panelists were introduced the topic really took off. To illustrate the common challenges in working with their organizations, their comments seemed to resonate with the audience. Being that they all had similar experiences, they were receptive to suggestions, and strategies going forward. In short, this was another well-received event by Andrew. His series of bringing together nonprofits has connected leaders in these organizations. They do important work, but need each other’s support to be successful. I look forward to the next one!

Tysons Corner Center

Last week was 2019 Black Friday – the busiest shopping day at Tysons Corner Center. In light of it being a couple of years since I have been here the day after Thanksgiving, it was a spectacle! The Macerich marketing team wanted me to get some great images specifically of the crowds. In general, there was no area inside that was not filled with shoppers. Moreover, there was significant traffic coming into the center in cars!

The open area overlooking the levels from the 3rd Floor Food court is an especially nice viewpoint. Because of the nice large skylight windows, this sunny day really had a lot of light streaming in. Hopefully everyone braved the conditions and finished all their shopping!
